TERMS OF SERVICE

These are the house rules for playing Thornreach, in plain language. They're an honest starting point rather than formal legal advice, and we expect to refine the wording with a lawyer as the game grows. By playing, you agree to them.

1 · Who can play

Thornreach is for players 18 and older. When you create an account you confirm you meet that age. If you don't, please don't create an account.

2 · Your account

Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for what happens on your account.
One person per account; don't share, sell, or trade accounts.
Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gotten into your account.

3 · Playing fair

To keep the town a good place, don't:

Cheat, exploit bugs for unfair advantage, use bots, or tamper with the game or other players' sessions.
Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other players, or post hateful, illegal, or sexual content involving minors — ever.
Try to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the game or its systems.
Use the game for anything illegal.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

4 · Content you create

Some features let you create and share content — chat, coven details, and the optional selfie and howl recordings that can be listed on the in-game Auction House. When you share that content in-game:

You keep ownership of it. You grant us permission to store and display it within the game so the feature works.
Only share content that is yours. Don't capture or upload another person's face, voice, or likeness.
Anything you list on the Auction House can be seen or heard by other players — treat it as public.
Don't share anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share.

5 · Purchases

Thornreach is free to play. Some optional extras (such as a Town Pass or a coven charter) cost real money and are handled by Stripe.
In-game gold and items have no real-world cash value and can't be exchanged for money.
Except where the law requires a refund, purchases of digital goods are generally final. If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact us and we'll try to make it right.

6 · The game is provided "as is"

Thornreach is a new, independent game and is offered as is, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available, bug-free, or that your progress will never be affected. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the game. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't legally be waived.

7 · Suspension & closing accounts

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the game or its players at risk. You can stop playing and ask us to delete your account at any time — see the Privacy Policy.

8 · Changes

We may update these terms as the game grows, and we'll change the "last updated" date above. If we make a significant change, we'll make a reasonable effort to let players know. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
